How to Play Dingleberry Blitz – Tips and Tricks 1024 600 Arcade Online Guides

Dingleberry Blitz is a skill-based merge game developed in collaboration with arcade content creator Arcade Matt – the name, the personality, and the berries are all very much his. If you know him, you already have a sense of what to expect. If you don’t, you’re about to meet eleven increasingly ridiculous berries – and one genuinely innovative arcade game.

The goal is simple: merge berries into bigger berries to earn tickets, but the strategy runs a lot deeper than that.

Dingleberry Blitz Basics

Berries

Dingleberry Blitz is a physics-based merge game. You drop berries onto a playfield, and when two berries of the same type touch – body to body, not just silhouette – they merge into the next berry up the progression. The bigger the berry, the more tickets it’s worth.

The berry progression runs eleven levels deep:

Dingleberry Blitz Berry Progression

  1. Dingleberry
  2. Stingleberry
  3. Tingleberry
  4. Singleberry
  5. Stringleberry
  6. Blingleberry
  7. Springleberry
  8. Jingleberry
  9. Shingleberry
  10. Thingleberry
  11. Kingleberry

Tickets and juice values start low at the smaller berries and increase steeply toward the top. The Kingleberry is the main objective – merging your way to one triggers the Superbonus, the biggest single reward in the game.

Every berry also has a juice value, which feeds into the Blitz mechanic. More on that shortly.

A Blitz is Not the End

If you’ve played Suika Game (or any of the many other titles it’s inspired), you’ll be familiar with the moment the stack reaches the top and the game ends. In most merge games, that’s a loss condition.

In Dingleberry Blitz, it’s something else entirely.

When a berry crosses the Blitz Trigger Line at the top of the playfield and doesn’t fall within a few seconds, a Blitz is triggered. Everything touching or below the Blitz Line – roughly the bottom third of the playfield – is blitzed into juice. The juice pours into a measuring cup on screen, and if it reaches 100mL or more, you win the Mini Bonus. Tickets are awarded based on how much juice you produce.

Then the camera pans back, and the game continues. Any berries above the Blitz Line fall to the bottom, your remaining berry count carries over, and play goes on.

This is the design decision that makes Dingleberry Blitz its own game. A Blitz isn’t a punishment – it’s a bonus event that clears space and rewards you for the big berries you built, then hands the playfield back to you. A well-timed Blitz with several large berries below the line can produce a significant juice yield, or clear the clutter and set you up for a strong continuation.

The key tip: a Blitz does not mean game over. Any berries above the Blitz Line survive. Any big berries higher up on the playfield when a Blitz triggers will still be in play when the juice event is over – don’t abandon them!

What to Watch

Before getting into strategy, it helps to understand what information you have available.

In the top left of the screen, two indicators sit side by side:

  • UP NEXT: shows the berry you’ll be dropping after your current one
  • BERRIES: shows how many berries you have remaining

Dingleberry Blitz Next Berry

The berry you’re currently holding is visible as you move it left and right above the playfield. Combined with the UP NEXT indicator, you always have visibility of the current drop and the next one – meaning you should always be planning at least two moves ahead.

The number of berries you have remaining is equally as important. When you’re close to the top, you need to be able to move quick and drop berries in rapid succession to get out of a tight spot. If you run out of berries while the Blitz timer is counting down, the vital seconds it takes you to credit the game for more berries could be the difference between a Kingleberry and an early smoothie.

Keeping a close eye on these two elements is one of the clearest separators between casual and skilled play.

Core Strategy: Big Berries at the Bottom

The single most important principle in Dingleberry Blitz is this: keep the biggest berries as low as possible, and the smallest berries near the top.

A playfield with large berries at the base and small berries near the top is set up for productive merge chains and optimized for space. A playfield with large berries at the top cuts the space you have to merge, and is likely to trigger a Blitz before you’re ready.

All of the advanced tips and tricks in the next section are based on this core strategy.

Dingleberry Blitz Tips and Tricks

Merge Chains

An overlooked source of ticket earnings in Dingleberry Blitz is the humble Merge Chain – merging multiple berries in quick succession. Each merge in a chain awards the tickets for the new berry plus incremental bonus tickets that grow with every successive merge. The longer the chain, the bigger the bonuses.

Setting up a chain requires patience (and adherence to the Core Strategy!). You’re looking to position/stack berries in reverse merge order, balanced against each other so that once you trigger a merge on the top berry, it sets off a chain reaction as they merge their way down.

Wall Balancing

One of the most reliable ways to hold berries in position while waiting for a merge opportunity is to rest them against the wall. A berry balanced against the wall stays put while you work on the rest of the playfield – but the balance point matters. Drop too far to one side and the berry rolls off. Drop with slightly more pressure the other way and the berry below gets nudged off the wall, which can also be useful for repositioning.

Merge to Move Berries

When two berries merge, the new berry appears at the midpoint between the two. This is more than a visual detail – it’s a repositioning tool.

By having two berries touch at a specific point to merge, you can steer the resulting berry into a more useful position – you can merge a berry off the wall, roll it into a better position, or even merge it out of a jam. This is one of the more precise moves in the game – and yes, it’s called getting out of a jam. The game involves berries. The pun is unavoidable.

The most skilled players are not just merging for the immediate ticket reward, but thinking about where the resulting berry will land and what it might trigger next.

Bump Stuck Berries

Berry friction can cause berries to wedge together, creating caves of space that prevent big berries from merging. Sometimes the simplest fix is to drop a berry on top of the stuck one, using the force of the impact to nudge it into contact with its neighbor.

A berry’s weight is dependent on its size, and a good old bump is often all it takes to trigger the merge and keep the playfield moving.

The Double-Tap

When you’re approaching the Blitz Trigger Line and running low on space, watch the UP NEXT indicator carefully. If the current berry and the next berry are the same type, dropping them in quick succession onto the same spot merges them immediately — freeing up space and potentially starting a chain.

This is a useful way to quickly recover a crowded playfield without triggering a Blitz before you’re ready.

Dingleberry Blitz Battles

Dingleberry Blitz Battle

Beyond standard play, Dingleberry Blitz occasionally features Dingleberry Battles – a mid-week competitive format that runs from Monday to Friday and ranks players not on XP, but on rare berry accumulation. Kingleberries, Thingleberries, and Shingleberries each count toward your score in an Olympic medal tally style format, and leaderboard rewards include Tickets and Tokens.

A Note on Arcade Online

Dingleberry Blitz is an Arcade Online original – developed internally and currently exclusive to the platform. A few players have asked when they’ll see it in a physical arcade. For now, this is the only place to play it. Dingleberry Blitz is a fully skill-based digital game with consistent physics and behavior every session. Everything is down to how you play.

Replays are always available if you want to watch the world’s best players in action – the difference between a player who understands the gameplay nuance and those who don’t is instantly visible.

It’s highly accessible for beginners while providing big rewards for the most skilled players – and now you have everything you need to be the berry best.
