Pokémon 30th Anniversary Event – What You Need to Know

Pokémon 30th Anniversary Event – What You Need to Know 1024 600 Arcade Online Guides

One of the most iconic franchises in history is turning 30. To celebrate, Arcade Online is running a Limited Time Event – complete with unique rewards, competitive leaderboards, daily challenges, and a grand prize giveaway for a Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary Elite Trainer Box.

Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of it.

Event Structure

This LTE runs across three consecutive competitive stages, with free Daily Rewards and Challenges that run throughout. Each competitive stage has its own leaderboard and its own rewards – but everything feeds into the Standings, the master leaderboard that ranks all players for the duration of the event.

It’s a journey to be the very best! Compete across various stages, collect Trainer Points to climb the Standings, and the Giveaway runs in the background the entire time – every Trainer Point another entry into the draw.

The three stages, in order:

Team Battle: four days
Master League / Casual League: three days
Elite Four: four days

Trainer Central – Your Event Hub

Trainer Central is where everything comes together. From here you can access the Standings leaderboard, the Giveaway, your daily Challenges, Daily Rewards, and the Tokémart.

Trainer Central is your first stop and ideally, a daily check-in to maximize your rewards and help ensure you don’t miss a thing.

The Currencies

Two new reward types are unique to this LTE. Understanding them early will help you make the most of every event.

Limited Time Event Currencies

Tokécoins

These are earned through events and challenges and spent in the Tokémart in exchange for standard Arcade Online platform currencies – Tokens, Tickets, XP, and Rerolls. The Tokémart opens with the event and remains open for three days after the final stage ends, giving you a window to convert everything before they expire. Don’t leave Tokécoins on the table – once the Tokémart closes, any remaining Tokécoins are void.

Trainer Points

These are your ranking currency for the Standings leaderboard and your entries into the Giveaway. Every Trainer Point counts – both toward your position on the Standings and as one additional entry into the lucky draw. They’re earned through Daily Rewards, Challenges, and competitive event leaderboards.

Both currencies are valid only for the duration of this LTE and will be void at the end of the event.

Daily Rewards

Daily Rewards start ahead of the competitive stages as an early opportunity to begin collecting Trainer Points and Tokécoins. They run for the full duration of the LTE – log in each day, claim your reward, and bank the currencies toward wherever you need them most.

Every Trainer Point counts, so try not to miss it!

Challenges

Each day brings four new Challenges of varying difficulty. Complete them for Tokécoins and Trainer Points – and make sure you do, because incomplete Challenges expire at the daily reset and cannot be reclaimed.

Challenges run from the start of the Team Battle through to the end of the Elite Four. Four Challenges a day, every day – it adds up quickly, and consistent daily play is one of the most reliable ways to climb the Standings.

Stage One: Team Battle

Duration: Four days

The LTE opens with the biggest Team Battle Arcade Online has ever run.

Limited Time Event Team Battle

When the event begins, press Join Event and you’ll be assigned to one of eight teams: Rock, Fire, Grass, Ground, Electric, Psychic, Water, or Poison. From there, earn XP by playing any game across the platform. Every point of XP you earn contributes to your personal score and your team’s collective total.

How rankings work:

Team Battle rewards both individual effort and collective performance – and the two are multiplied together to determine your final reward.

Your personal rank within your team is determined by how much XP you contributed relative to your teammates. The higher your individual contribution, the higher your rank within the team – and the greater your base reward.

Your team’s overall rank determines a multiplier applied to that base reward. Teams are ranked from most to least XP, with the multiplier increasing rank by rank – up to a massive 8x for the team that finishes first. Finish last and there’s no multiplier. The incentive to contribute is real.

Both Tokécoins and Trainer Points are awarded through Team Battle leaderboard rewards.

Stage Two: Master League and Casual League

Duration: Three days

Stage two splits the field into two leagues running simultaneously – Casual and Master – each with their own leaderboard.

Both leagues rank players by XP earned during the stage. The rules are identical. What’s different is the entry criteria and the rewards.

Casual League is free to enter and the default for all players. If you don’t actively choose the Master League, you’re competing in Casual.

Master League requires a paid entry fee to participate. To enter, navigate to the Master League leaderboard and follow the entry instructions. Master League leaderboard rewards include Tokens for players ranked in the top 100, in addition to the LTE-specific currencies.

One important detail: you can only compete on one leaderboard. If you enter the Master League partway through the stage, your XP carries over and your Casual League entry is removed. There’s a deadline to purchase Master League entry – don’t wait until the final hours.

Both leagues award Tokécoins and Trainer Points through their leaderboard rewards.

Stage Three: Elite Four

Duration: Four days

The final stage – and the last chance to make your mark on the Standings before the LTE closes.

The Elite Four runs as four consecutive 24-hour leaderboards, one per day. XP earned across all games contributes to that day’s leaderboard – but each day features one game that awards 3x XP. The featured games across the four days are Tornado, Galaxy Hunter, Dingleberry Blitz, and Galactic Chaos. Check the platform each day to see which game is featured and take full advantage of the bonus.

Each daily leaderboard resets at the daily reset – every day is a fresh competition with the same rewards on offer. Four days, four chances to place.

Tokécoins and Trainer Points are awarded through Elite Four leaderboard rewards.

The Giveaway – A Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary Elite Trainer Box

Running alongside every stage of the LTE is the grand prize Giveaway: a Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary Elite Trainer Box, shipped to the winner in October.

Every Trainer Point you collect during the LTE counts as one entry into the lucky draw. The more Trainer Points you earn – through Daily Rewards, Challenges, and competitive event leaderboards – the more entries you have, and the better your chances.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Eligibility requirements:

To be eligible for the Giveaway, you must:

  • Be based in the United States with a valid US residential address
  • Complete Arcade Online’s identity verification process
  • Accept the Official Terms and Conditions
  • Maintain an Arcade Online account in good standing throughout the giveaway and prize fulfilment process

The Giveaway is open to US players only due to prize availability and shipping logistics. The rest of the LTE is open to all players globally.

On Identity Verification

Arcade Online uses iDenfy, a specialist identity verification provider, to confirm eligibility for the Giveaway. If you have questions about the verification process or why we use it, our full guide is here: Identity Verification Explained.

If for any reason the 30th Anniversary ETB cannot be provided, an alternative ETB will be substituted.

The winner will be notified as per the Terms and Conditions following the close of the event.

The Tokémart

The Tokémart is open for the full duration of the LTE and for three days after the Elite Four ends – giving you time to convert your Tokécoins after the competitive dust has settled.

Exchange your Tokécoins for Tokens, Tickets, XP, or Rerolls – whichever platform currencies suit you best. Once the Tokémart closes, any remaining Tokécoins expire, so make sure you spend them before the deadline!

Tips for Making the Most of the Event

Claim your Daily Rewards every day. It takes seconds and every Trainer Point adds up – both for the Standings and the Giveaway.

Don’t let Challenges expire. Four Challenges reset every day. Missing a day is leaving Trainer Points and Tokécoins on the table.

Know which game is featured in the Elite Four each day. The 3x XP bonus is significant – playing the featured game is the fastest way to climb the daily leaderboard.

In Team Battle, personal contribution matters. No matter which team you’re assigned to, the more XP you contribute relative to your teammates, the higher your personal rank – and the greater your reward. The fact your contribution may help your team climb the ranks is a nice bonus.

If you’re considering the Master League, don’t wait. Entry closes before the stage ends – and your XP carries over if you switch from Casual, so there’s no penalty for entering early.

US players: complete verification early. Every Trainer Point you earn before verifying still counts once you’ve completed the process – but you need to be verified before the draw. Don’t leave it to the last day.

Spend your Tokécoins before the Tokémart closes. The three-day post-event window is generous, but it will close. Set a reminder if you need to.
